-bare wooden hangers (I found mine at Walmart for a little over $2.00 for a pack of 5)
-wood stain (you can get this at Walmart, Lowes, or any home improvement store. I found this dark cherry in my mother-in-law-to-be’s garage)
-white permanent paint pen extra fine tip (mine is from Hobby Lobby. It took me a few pens to find the one that worked the best for me. If you have a really steady hand you can even get a hand held engraver pretty cheaply and really etch the name in the hanger!
-someone with pretty handwriting (I wrote everyone’s name multiple times and searched Pinterest pictures until I could get a fluid motion in the style I liked. You can also recruit a bridesmaid to help with this or a close friend. Someone you know has loopy gorgeous writing!)
I have received or made several different versions of these! My personal favorite is the relaxing ones!
Get a monogrammed waffle makeup bag. The Tuscaloosa local vendor I use for all things monogrammed and vinyl is Happy Holliday Sewing (she works off Facebook right now). Half the time I find things on Etsy or Pinterest and say “Hey can we do this?”
Then fill it with odds and ends!
Relaxing Pamper Kit
-sheet face mask (your sally beauty salon will have some. I have even ordered some from amazon. My favorite ones come from Mr. Chen’s Asian Market in Tuscaloosa. I personally like the sheet masks because they are so moisturizing and not messy like a clay mask would be.)
-hand lotion. I would do a lotion specific for hands and the same for a foot cream. They are a little heavier and moisturize much better than a body lotion will.
- peppermint tea. (not everyone is tea drinkers but I really love something warm and hydrating after a long soak in the bath. Another of my favorite teas is from the Republic of Teas Acai Blueberry Green Tea!)
-Sugar Scrubs. I signed up for TheBrideBox monthly bridal subscription after getting engaged in July. They send me cutesy things each month and in October I received a scrub from Spruce and Fresh. IT IS AMAZING. I love it so much. I love it as much as Youtube beauty gurus love Lush bath bombs. It comes in a cute little container with metallic and white label and looks so nice and clean and smells fantastic!
- Cute fuzzy socks
- Foot cream (I don’t have a favorite one right now. I am using two different ones but neither are my super favorites. When I run out I will explore with some more!)
- Pumace Sponge (Cost Plus World Market has my favorite one right now for $1.49! I use it dry but you can also use it in the shower or bath!)
- Nail file. You can get packs of cute ones pretty much anywhere!
- A simple clear or nude polish. It’s clean and fresh looking!
There are a number of things you can buy your squad that are cute and completely Pinterest worthy! Here’s the thing about being in your 20s now that Pinterest exists. . . you have been in so many weddings that you have more than one of the same dainty bracelet or dainty necklace. Now brides, this is not to sway you from buying the personalized necklaces or bracelets! If that is what you want to give your girls the day of to wear GIVE IT TO THEM! It is your wedding and your gift! I just have a bridesmaid that is very sensitive to metals and one who I swear to you didn’t have to buy her dress for my wedding because she already had it in her closet in her color. . . . this is not a joke and this will be a reality for many of you! One or more of your bridesmaids has been there done that and has almost every gift Pinterest has thrown at Modern Brides. I am going to give you a few personalized items that your bridesmaids can use the day of and many days to come! Actually I have the monogrammed bag I mentioned before and I just used it for travel makeup this weekend!
Happy Holliday Sewing is Tuscaloosa local and I get ALL my monogram and vinyl work done from her! I have used her for 3 years now and she is actually the one who got me into my monogram/personalization craze! Everything she does is cute and sturdy and perfect! Some of the things pictured I have ordered personally and some for previous brides!
Tumblers! I got my girls these (shhh) and I am going to fill them with the single serving of champagne at the rehearsal dinner so they can be used for coffee or mimosas while we are getting ready the day of!
Instead of a monogrammed button or robe opt for the Velcro wrap around towel or pajama pants/shorts! Even a tank top, t-shirt or pullover (depending the season) are great comfy options that your girls can use over and over!
Monogrammed Market totes! These are so cute! Fill them up with all kinds of goodies to snack on or more for the day of and your girls will definitely use these again! You can get insulated or not and they can pack just about anything in them for dinner party pot lucks, Holiday dinners, tailgates and more!
These are just a few of the things I have DIY, purchased and things I have loved seeing and receiving!
**The vendors that I have featured are Alison with Happy Holliday Sewing and Spruce & Fresh**
